Ruby (Lipscomb) Thornton Obituary

Ruby Mae Lipscomb Thornton was a caring, kind and lovely lady. She loved her family and was pleasant to everyone she met. She lost her husband Roger in 2010, but she was grateful every day for the love he showed by gifts and security.

She was the 8th child of 10 raised in the mountains of Virginia. She is survived by her youngest sister Sarah Marie Beach and older brother Jack Bennett Lipscomb.

Even though her upbringing and education were poor, she always had an optimistic outlook and joy in life. She raised her children Gina and Tyrone with a strong and positive work ethic that they live by each day. Her love of flowers and gardening showed in every home she lived in. "Getting my hands in the dirt" was a favorite pastime.

Family and friends all have memories of Ruby.... So please share some of these here for all to enjoy.
