Ronald Joseph Romanick, age 58 of Millville, died suddenly Thurs., July 25, 2013 at his residence.
Born in Millville, he grew up there and graduated from Millville High School. He also was a graduate of Cumberland County College, Glassboro State College, and Tennessee Wesleyan College.
He had taught school briefly in Millville, then for over 25 years in the Dallas, Texas School System before he retired. He was recognized by the Dallas Assistant Superintendent of Schools for his special ability as an elementary school teacher and for his work with students in Physical Education.
He was a member of the St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church of Millville.
A member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1778 of Millville, he had obtained the grade of Fourth Degree Knight. He was also a member of the Millville Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his mother Mary (Tkach) Romanick of Millville; his brother Robin A. Romanick and wife Meredith (Lawrence) of Louisville, KY; a nephew Everett Robin Romanick of Louisville, KY; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father Joseph S. Romanick in 1979, and his sister Christine Marie Romanick in 2000.
There will be a viewing on Wed. July 31, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville. A Panakhyda service begins at 8 p.m. There will also be a viewing on Thursday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thurs, August 1, 2013 at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 801 Carmel Road, Millville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
