Roland H. Morrison Sr. 83, of Vineland, passed away peacefully at home on February 24, 2013.
Born in Cape May, NJ, he spent his childhood in Cape May County where he attended Rio Grande School, and told stories of living some of his boyhood days on a houseboat in the back sounds of Wildwood, NJ.
He joined the Army in 1947, during his tour of duty he spent time in Germany. After the Army he worked as a mechanic and a roofer. He married his wife of 50 years, Betty Jane (Young) Morrison in 1952. They moved to Millville in 1958 and then to Vineland in 1964. During this time he belonged to The Lucky Roamers Motorcycle Club, The Coast Guard Auxiliary, The South Jersey Bottle Club and was active with his children in 4-H. He was an avid motorcyclist who won many races at the Vineland Speed Way
