Rita C. Mongelli, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on Friday, December 5th, 2025, after an extended illness. A longtime resident of Millville, NJ, Rita was born in Philadelphia, PA, and lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to her community.

Rita was a dedicated educator, having served as a teacher and later as a principal at Fairfield Township Public Schools in Fairfield, NJ. Her passion for education and her commitment to her students left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rita earned her Master's degree from Glassboro State College, and was a devoted parishioner of All Saints Parish in Millville, as well as a former parishioner of St. John Bosco Church. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she was actively involved in her church community.

Rita had a zest for life and enjoyed sewing and quilting, traveling, and cherished her trips to Lancaster with her dear friend Peg, as well as her trips to the Outer Banks with Peg and the Kukal family. She had a deep love for animals, especially dogs and cats

Rita is survived by her loving sisters, Debra Gonzalez (Richard) and Joann M. Gale (John); her cherished niece, Amanda Perry (Shane); and her dear nephew, Matthew Gale (Michelle). She also leaves behind her treasured friends, Anthony and Bobbi Jo Kukal, and their children Alexandra, Anthony, and Emily, as well as her dear friend Peg VanBuskirk, and several cousins, and great nieces and nephews. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rita Mongelli.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Christy Funeral Home, 11 West Broad St., Millville, NJ, on Wednesday, December 17th, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on Thursday, December 18th, 2025, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Parish of All Saints, Buck and Depot Sts., Millville, NJ, on Thursday at 11:00 am. Cremation will be held privately. Rita's family invites you to share memories and condolences on her tribute wall.
