Richard Joslin King Obituary

Richard J. King age 83 of Millville passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at his home with his caregiver and companion by his side.


He was born in Northfield, NJ, and was the son of Richard King and Mary (Joslin) King.  


Richard graduated from Bridgeton High School, Rowan University, and University of Pennsylvania.  He also attended Harvard and Drexel Universities.  


He was a Librarian and started the library of the Cumberland County Historical Society  (Lummis Library) in Greenwich, NJ, and the library of Rowan College - Cumberland.


One of his favorite interests was Egypt, and he often took photos for the Department of Antiquities of Egypt.  He was also a consultant and photographer on Bio Medical Television to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and a consultant to the Government of Kuwait on higher education.  


Richard will be sadly missed by his caregiver and companion Reynaldo Rodriguez; and many wonderful friends, Fran Menz, Francis J. Marone, John A. Carbo, Jim Krasnov, Elizabeth Scholfield, Jeanne Garrison and Genora Rosypal. 


Family and friends will be received from 9 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. followed by a memorial service beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church, 119 West Commerce Street, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.


Arrangements are under the direction of Christy Funeral Home, Millville.
