Percy F. Bates Jr., left us peacefully on Sunday, March 9th, 2025. Percy was born in Vineland, NJ, and grew up in Vineland and Newfield, NJ. A dedicated and cherished resident of Millville, NJ, for many years, Percy made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Percy was a skilled construction worker, who worked for many companies throughout the years. Beyond his professional endeavors, Percy had a passion for computers and gaming, a love for various types of music, and enjoyed losing himself in intriguing TV documentaries.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Bates, and his loving children, Percy Bates IV (Stella), Kristine Cook, Michelle Bates, Michael Bates Jr., Tanya Bates, Rick Bates, and Amanda Bates-Perez (Orlando). Percy was a proud grandfather to 23 grandchildren, who will miss him dearly. His surviving siblings Harry Bates, Ruth McCracken, Buddy Bates, Johnny Bates, Ginny Gandy, Billy Cushner, Catherine Gandy, Edith Dilks, Michael Bates Sr., and Evelyn Fullerton will always cherish the bond they shared.

Percy reunites in eternal rest with his parents, Percy F. Bates Sr. and Audrey Bates, as well as his beloved siblings Pearl Juass and Jerri Lamb.

Cremation will be held privately. Memories of Percy and condolences for his family may be shared on his tribute wall.
