Nina (Samilenko) Lebid, age 79 of Philadelphia, PA and formerly of Millville, passed away Tuesday morning, November 19, 2013 at Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, after a lengthy illness.
Born in the Ukraine, Mrs. Lebid emigrated with her family to the United States in 1951 and settled in Millville.
She worked as a seamstress most of her life.
Mrs. Lebid was an active member with the Sisterhood of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Millville. She enjoyed gardening and growing vegetables.
Mrs. Lebid is survived by one son Nick Poduslenko and his wife Anne of Glen Mills, PA; two daughters, Zina Smith and her husband Robert of Philadelphia, PA, and Helen Beaton of Egg Harbor Twp; one brother Mike Samilenko and his wife Lois of Vineland; one sister Ida Sayres of San Diego, CA; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013 in Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 77 Hogbin Road, Millville. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. in the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 77 Hogbin Road, Millville, NJ 08332.
