Newell Vernon Cossaboon, age 88 of Vineland, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, January 24, 2014 at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home.
Born and raised in Millville, he lived in and around Millville all his life.
Mr. Cossaboon served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II, and was stationed in Germany. He participated in Central Europe, Northern France and the Rhineland. He received the EAME Campaign Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, and a WWII Victory Medal.
For over 40 years, he worked for Ace Glass in Vineland as a glass worker and retired.
He loved horses, big bands, old western movies, Frank Sinatra and playing his guitar.
Mr. Cossaboon is survived by his daughter Susanne Schlussel and her husband Mathew of Mt. Laurel; two brothers, Lawrence Bohm of Vineland, and R. Wayne Cossaboon of Millville; one sister Alonda Giguere of Vero Beach, FL; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Newell and Evelyn (Pangburn) Cossaboon; and three siblings, Janet Monari, Ellen Graiff, and Loren "Whitey" Cossaboon.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2014 in Greenwood Memorial Park, 10th and Broad Streets, Millville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Christy Funeral Home, Millville.
