Nannie Mae (Knight) Narbut, age 87 of Millville, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born and raised in Ridgely, TN, she graduated from Lake County High School in Ridgely, TN and attended La Salle University through mail correspondence.
Mrs. Narbut met her husband, Joseph while living in Detroit, MI.
She worked as a machinist for Carlisle Machine Shop in Millville. Prior to that, she worked as a machinist at the Bomber Plant in Cleveland, Ohio during the war effort.
Mrs. Narbut found great delight in her love of poetry. She was a member of the Millville Women's Society and the Ladies Poetry Club of Millville.
Mrs. Narbut is survived by four sons, Joseph E. Narbut Jr., Jack D. "Smokey" Narbut Sr., John Narbut and James Philip Narbut, all of Millville; one brother Norman Woodrow Knight of Cleveland, OH; one sister Carleen Smith of Ridgely, TN; one sister in law Tina Knight; four grandchildren, Jack "Smokie" Narbut Jr., Melanie Jean Narbut, James Gustov Narbut, and Kellie Marie Narbut; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph E. Narbut Sr. in 1988; one sister Lillian Knight; one brother Talmus Knight; and one sister in law Irene Knight.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. There will be a viewing on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
