Maria (Sterzl) Kot, age 88 of Millville passed away suddenly at her residence Friday, Dec. 13, 2013.
Born in Czechoslovakia to German parents, she had lived in the Ukraine and attended school in Germany. In 1951 she and her husband Andrij emigrated to Philadelphia. Three years later they moved to Millville.
She had worked for Wheaton Glass Co. for 12 years and Kimble Glass Co. for 18 years and retired at age 62. She was a member of the GBBA Union.
She was a member of St. John Bosco Church of Millville.
She enjoyed working in her yard and growing flowers. She was an excellent cook and baker.
The second oldest of ten children, she is survived by her sister Agnes and husband Paul Redlich and children Patricia Kerth and Gabrielle, of Canada, and her sister-in-law Olga Bartholomew and husband Frank and daughter Marlene of Millville. Survivors living in Germany are: three sisters, Theresia and husband Martin Schatz, Angela Doerner and children Stefanie and Uwe, and Margarethe and husband Frank Pachow and son Ivo; and her brother Jacob Sterzl and wife Rita and two children, Siena and Nico. Additional nieces and nephews surviving are: Rosemarie, Elke, Frank, Vera, and Matthias,

She was deceased by her parents Jacob and Julianne (Urban) Sterzl; her husband Andrej Kot; three brothers Stefan, Adam and wife Poldi, and Vinzenz; a niece Monika; her sister Julia and husband Guenther Parske; her brother-in-law Frank Doerne.
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 17, at 11 a.m. in St. John Bosco Church Parish of All Saints, 2 Hillcrest Avenue, Millville.
There will be a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church.
Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Christy Funeral Home, Millville.
