Edna Mary Duffy, age 86 of Millville, died Saturday morning, December 21, 2013 in Inspira Medical Center of Vineland after an extended illness.
Born in Maple Shade, she moved to Philadelphia, PA and married. When her late husband Deacon Francis A. Duffy took employment with the Millville Public School System as a high school English teacher, she moved to Millville.
She was a member of the Parish of All Saints St. John Bosco Church of Millville, a member of the Parish Council and was a Eucharistic minister.
She was a homemaker and had worked in the Millville Day Care Center. A talented seamstress, she had made many of the costumes for the Vineland Little Theatre. She was also an accomplished artist and had won several ribbons and awards for her entries in the Cumberland County Office on Aging Art Shows. She was an avid reader, enjoyed working crossword puzzles and listing to Frank Sinatra recordings.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters: Kathleen E. Duffy and husband Glenn Murray of Palm Coast, FL, Michael F. Duffy and wife Joanne of Millville, Edward F. Duffy, esq. and wife Eileen M. of Vineland, and Theresa Ann Duffy-Diament and husband Ernest of Lawrence Township; one sister Elizabeth "Betty" Berry of Englewood, Ohio; six grandchildren: Jennifer Duffy, Jessica Lore, Sean Duffy, Jacquelyn Bagby, Evelyn Duffy, and Matthew Duffy; and three great-grandchildren: Cody Lore, and Christopher and Tyler Duffy.
She was predeceased by her husband Deacon Francis A . Duffy, and four brothers, Bill, James, Robert, and Jack.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, Dec. 26, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Millville.
