Walter Fred Hider Jr., age 55 of Millville, died at his residence surrounded by his family on Tues., Dec. 25, 2012 after an extended illness.
Born in Millville, he grew up there and was a graduate of Millville High School.
He attended the Second U. Methodist Church of Millville.
He was a fork lift operator and had worked for General Mills Progresso Quality Foods of Vineland. He was a member of United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, Local No. 156.
He was a former member of the Millville Elks and belonged to various deer hunting clubs.
He was proud of his "Squeals on Wheels" barbecue cooking trailer that he used to cater parties.
He is survived by his wife Karen Ann; his sister Cindi Bevan and husband Joe of Crossville, TN; his parents, Walter F. and Lois (Cox) Hider Sr. of Millville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be conducted on Sat., Jan. 5, 2013 in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville at 10 a.m. There will be a calling hour from 9 to 10 a.m. before the service.
Burial will be private at a later date.
