Mollie A. (Zakraysek) Beebe, age 89 of Millville, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 after a brief illness.
Born and raised in Krayn, PA, she lived in Baltimore, MD, before moving to New Jersey.
During World War II, Mrs. Beebe worked for Eastern Aircraft and Grumann Aircraft, where she built TBF-4 Avenger Dive Bomber Aircraft. She returned to Pennsylvania, and then moved to New Jersey. She worked for Armstrong Cork Co. for four and a half years, and then she worked for Wheaton Glass Co. for 32 years and retired.
Mrs. Beebe was a member of the First Presbyterian Church on the Maurice River, the Slovene National Benefit Society, and the GBBA Local No. 219. She enjoyed taking trips to the casino.
Mrs. Beebe is survived by her son Dr. James A. Beebe and his wife Bobbie (Smith) of Millville; one brother Joseph Zakraysek and his wife Marge of S. Euclid, Ohio; five sisters, Ann Volcjak of Baltimore, MD, Mary Welsh, Christine Welch, and Jenny Kusher, all of Madison, Ohio, and Helen Fisher of Baltimore, MD; two grandchildren, Zachery and Tiffani Beebe, both of Millville; three nephews, Robert Francois of Millville, Donald Welsh and wife Dottie, and Ronald Welsh, all of Madison, Ohio; several other nieces and nephews; and her friend Emma Obese. She was predeceased by her husband Albert Beebe in 2006; and her parents, Joseph and Mary Zakraysek.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014 in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. There will be a viewing on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville.
