Miriam G. Newman

  Miriam G. (Moffett) Newman age 94 of Millville passed away Thursday, October 30, 2023 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.
  Born in Millville to the late Horace and F. Mildred (Porch) Moffett, she graduated from Millville High School, Class of 1946 and was a life long resident.
  She began her training as a lab technician in Atlantic City and furthered her certification training at Philadelphia General Hospital with a concentration in bacteriology.  For many years she worked as a lab technician at Newcomb Hospital in Vineland and then for Dr. Pasquale Ruggieri in his office.
  After having her children, Miriam's family became her priority. Her family was her pride and joy, but most of all, she cherished her time spent with her grandson and watching him grow. 
  She loved being busy with her family and enjoyed canning and preserving summer fruits and produce.  She grew up and was a long time member of Second United Methodist Church in Millville.
  Miriam will be sadly missed by her children, Amanda Ferzetti and her husband Frank Jr., and Ralph R. Newman Jr.; grandson Frank Thomas Ferzetti III; and her special caretaker and friend for many years, Elsie. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph R. Newman Sr. of 42 years in 2010. 
  Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville.
