Mary Etta (Carter) Wolf, age 99 of Millville, passed away Friday, August 29, 2025 in her home surrounded by her family.

Born in Millville to the late James and Ruth (Reeves) Carter, she grew up in Lansdowne, PA and graduated from Lansdowne High School, class of 1943.  Mary Etta continued her education and graduated in 1948 from West Chester University after receiving her Bachelor's degree.  For 33 years she taught 4th grade at the Lakeview School in Ridley Park, PA and retired.  

In 1987 she and her husband Walter moved back to Millville to enjoy their retirement years.  

Mary Etta was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Millville.  She was also an active member and former Board member with the Millville Woman's Club.  She enjoyed playing the piano, especially for functions in her classroom and at the Millville Woman's Club.  She was also an avid bridge player.  Some of her favorite pastimes were doing crossword puzzles and shopping, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially summering in Cape May.

Mary Etta is survived by her cousin Paula Corson, along with her special family including Andrew Corson, Amy Danner, Beth Rehmann, James Corson, Barbara Corson, Robert Corson III and all their children; as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Walter P. Wolf in 2007; her brother George Carter; and Robert Corson Jr.

Mary Etta's family would like to thank Bayada Hospice and her caregivers, Evelyn Kates and Donna Bunting for their warmth and compassion.  

Family and friends are invited to Mary Etta's visitation on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville.  Her memorial service will begin at 10 a.m. followed by her interment in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville.
