Lucille Anderson, age 87, of Wilmington, DE, and formerly of Millville, NJ, passed away on Tuesday January 3, 2023 after a lengthy illness. 
Born in Hartford, TN, the family traveled north and settled in Millville.  For the past 20 years, she has lived in Delaware.  Lucille was a graduate of the Cumberland County College Nursing Program.  Prior to her retirement in 1997, she worked at Rainbow Nursing Center as a registered nurse and Director of Nursing.  As a registered nurse, she worked throughout Cumberland, Salem, and Cape May Counties.  During her work life, she worked in the glass factory at Kerrs, sewing factory off Columbia Blvd., as a meat wrapper, and as a school cook for the Millville Board of Education.  Lucille attended Central Baptist Church in Millville, and she enjoyed gardening, family genealogy, and taking care of her family. 
Lucille is survived by her son Leonard E. (Leslie) Anderson of Newark, DE; daughter Cynthia (James) McGinley of Warminster, PA; three grandchildren, Tim and Sean McGinley and Stephanie Anderson; her sister Marlin Hemingway, and many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her husband Leonard, parents Ambers and Nancy (nee McGaha) Shelton, brothers Elmer, Burl, and Doyle Shelton, and sisters Ellen Farley, Melba Durham, Eula Mae and Murray Shelton. 
A viewing will be held on Tuesday January 10, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville, NJ.  The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, Millville.
