Loretta J. Kears

Loretta J. (Reeves) Kears, age 92 of Millville passed away Wednesday morning May 10, 2023 at home after an extended illness.
 

Born in Millville to the late Wilbert F. and Sarah (Hignett) Reeves Sr., she attended Millville Public Schools and was a life long resident of Millville.  

Throughout Loretta's  life she worked as a seamstress for many area sewing factories.  She was also a member of the ILGWU.

She loved the beach, traveling and supporting local sports programs, but most of all she loved her grandchildren.
 

Loretta will be sadly missed by her two sons, Paul Kears Jr., and Mark Kears and his wife Nancy; three grandchildren, Alaynna Kears, Arielle Flood and her husband J.T., and Jarad Kears and his wife Justyna; one great grandson Lucas Kears; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband Paul Kears Sr. in 2008; two brothers, William Reeves and Wilbert F. Reeves Jr.; and one sister Roberta "Bonnie" Burrell.
 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2023 in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville.  Family and friends will be received on Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Millville.  In memory of Loretta, the family requests memorial contributions to Ennoble Care, 2 University Plaza Dr., #204, Hackensack, NJ 07601.  Memories and expressions of sympathy for Loretta may be shared on the Obituary Tribute Wall.
