Lillian Rose Firus celebrated her 98th birthday mere weeks before she passed away on February 3, 2025. Lillian was born in Ocean City, New Jersey, to the late Charles and Addie Steelman. Raised in Tuckerton, she moved to Millville as a young adult. After working in a candy factory making saltwater taffy in Atlantic City, she lived in Lindenwold and New Egypt before returning to Millville to raise three children with her husband. She worked for Rennoc Corp. at Millville Airport, where she sewed Christmas stockings.
Lillian was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge of Vineland. She enjoyed taking day trips to Ocean City beach & boardwalk; browsing thrift shops, flea markets, and yard sales for good deals; crocheting; and spending time with her grandkids, who lovingly refer to her as “Mom-Mom.”
