Kenneth H. Freeh, age 92 of Millville, passed away,Tuesday evening, January 29, 2013 at the South Jersey Regional Medical Center, Vineland, after a brief illness.
Mr. Freeh was born in Philadelphia, PA and he grew up in Cherry Hill.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946 during W.W.II, as a Private First Class Infantry Soldier. He fought in Central Europe, and he was the recipient of the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the W.W.II Victory Medal.
For 16 years, Mr. Freeh worked as a Maintenance Man for Prudential Insurance Co. of Millville and retired. Prior to that, he was a driver for Lab Glass in Vineland for ten years.
Mr. Freeh was commander and a member of the DAV, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Bush-Kerrick, Post No. 2169, the American Legion Nabb-Leslie, Post No. 82, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the LLPOA. He was also a member of St. John Bosco Church of Millville. He enjoyed boating, fishing and traveling.
Mr. Freeh is survived by two daughters, A. Carolyn Moser, and Catherine Freeh, both of Millville; two nephews, Ronald Wright and wife Diana, and Wayne Christiansen; and three nieces, Virginia Wellong and husband Robert, Joyce and husband Bob Lewis, and Linda Christiansen. He was predeceased by his wife Gertrude (Ruhland) in 2004; and two sisters, Agnes and Regina.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013 in the Parish of All Saints, Buck and Depot Streets, Millville. There will be no viewing. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Millville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Christy Funeral Home, Millville.
