Julio Diaz-Ocasio, age 79 of Millville, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at home with his loving sister Rosa and his loving family at his bedside.
Born in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, Julio lived in Brooklyn, NY, where he worked as a store clerk, before moving to Millville 15 years ago.
He was a member of the Parish of All Saints in Millville. Julio enjoyed being around family and friends. He liked to read, and he enjoyed taking long walks in Millville.
Julio was predeceased by his mother Gregoria Ocasio; his father Julio Diaz; one sister Manuela Diaz; and his brother Robert Diaz.
Julio is survived by his loving sister Rosa Santiago Diaz; his loving nieces and nephews, Madeline Santiago, Carmen and Ernesto Gonzalez, Mildred and Mike Santiago, Minerva and Anthony Sauro, Rosa M. Santiago, Mario Jr. and Edith Santiago, and Mike and Lisa Santiago; his great nieces and nephews, Wendy and Alfred Perez, April and Charlie Warren, Virginia Echevarria, Miguel Rodriguez, Jenny McWhorter, Mario and Renita Rodriguez, Raymond and Mellissa Gonzalez, Ernesto and Jen Gonzalez, Chris and Jill Santiago, Brandy and Aaron Wilkens, Mario Santiago III, Danny Santiago, Dominick Santiago, Emilio Santiago; and his loving great great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. There will be a viewing on Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Millville.
