Joseph A. Sharp, age 58 of Millville, died Sunday afternoon, Feb. 3, 2013 at his residence after an extended illness.
Born in Millville, he grew up there and graduated from Millville High School class of 1973 where he played football and baseball. He then attended and graduated from Cumberland County College.
He had worked for Wheaton Glass Co. through its successive mergers and most recently was the Mold Shop manager for Gerresheiner Glass Co. of Millville. He also was a member of the GMP Union No. 219.
His favorite past time was spending quality time with his family and saltwater fishing. He will be missed by his dog Whitey and his pet cats. He was a gardener and a diehard Eagles and Phillies fan.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl (Orr Guyer) Sharp; two sons, Joseph Sharp and wife Brooke of Millville and Andrew Sharp and wife Kellie of Williamstown; his sister Florence Sharp Thornborough of Millville; and a granddaughter Briella Sharp of Williamstown.
A memorial service will be conducted on Fri., Feb. 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville. There will be a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service. Burial will be at a later date.
