Joseph Murowany Jr., age 70, of Millville, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, at home following a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born on November 26, 1955, in Millville, Joe was a lifelong resident who cherished his community. He graduated from Millville High School in 1974, where he formed many friendships that remained close to his heart throughout his life.

Joe was a devoted and loving husband to Kathy, whose partnership and love were the foundation of his life. Together they built a beautiful family that brought him endless pride and joy. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Kathy; his children, Joe (Allison), Jason, and Erin (Josh); his cherished grandchildren, Samantha, Lucas, Delilah, Lola, and baby boy; and his beloved labs, Mia and Bella, who brought him so much love and happiness. He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends. Joe was predeceased by his beloved parents, Ruth and Joseph Sr. Murowany, who he is now reunited with.

Joe dedicated much of his professional life to his work as a union electrician and member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 351, where he was known for his strong work ethic, skill, and reliability.

Nothing meant more to Joe than time spent with his family. He treasured summer vacations in Ocean City, where countless memories were made along the shore. He loved traveling, family adventures, and exploring new places together, including memorable cruises and visits to national parks.

Joe loved being on the water, especially kayaking and fishing, and found his greatest joy in time spent with his family and friends—whether traveling, gathered together, or simply enjoying the peace of the shore.

He will be remembered for his warm heart, unwavering love for his family, adventurous spirit, and the kindness he showed to everyone fortunate enough to know him. His memory will live on in every family trip, every day by the water, and every shared story that brings a smile.

Relatives and friends are invited to join together for a viewing on Monday April 20, 206 from 9:00 to 10:30 am at Christy Funeral Home, 11 West Broad St., Millville, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am at All Saints Parish, Buck and Depot Sts., Millville, NJ. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Millville, NJ. Donations may be made in Joe’s memory to one of the following charities: The Arc of Cumberland County, a local nonprofit that supports individuals with disabilities and their families, or a Labrador rescue organization of your choice. Memories of Joe and condolences for his family may be shared on his tribute wall.

Joe will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving family and friends.
