Joseph N. DeVita, 60, of Milmay, NJ went to be with the Lord in the early morning of December 20th 2023.
Born May 8th 1963, he was the son of the late William and Patricia DeVita of Dover, DE.
Joe graduated from Lake Forest High School in DE in 1981. He spent later years residing around Millville, South Jersey.
He worked as a tire technician, heavy lifting and retreading tires for tractor-trailors for over 30 years.
Joe was artistic and created stippling style drawings. He enjoyed going to the beach and making sand sculptures. Another hobby he had was gardening vegetables. He liked singing and doing imitations of different cartoon characters. Rush and Creed were his favorite bands. He was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. After his retirement he enjoyed caring for animals on a neighbors farm.
He was also a hard working handyman willing to help with a wide range of tasks. Joe was friendly and kind to all he encountered. He called himself a comedian and was delighted to tell a joke or story. Recently he reconnected his relationship with God and attended Sunday services. A tattoo of his daughter was pictured on his chest along with the words, "Beat of My Heart." He was very passionate to rehash the past and tell her how much he loved his one and only daughter.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Lori DeVita, of Bridgeton. One granddaughter, Melanie DeVita-Wuzzardo. Two brothers, William DeVita (Linda) and Anthony DeVita of Millville. Two nephews, Vincent DeVita (Jessica) and Brian DeVita (Amanda) and one niece, Jenna DeVita. Life long best friend, Armando Zapata.
Memorial services will take place at the convenience of the family.
