Joseph S. Bybel, Jr.

Joseph S. Bybel Jr., a longtime resident of Millville, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Born in 1964, and raised in Millville, Joseph was a beloved member of the community, known for his thoughtful spirit and unwavering love for his family and friends. He was a congregant of the Parish of All Saints Catholic Church where he greeted parishioners as a member of the Ambassador/Security team. Joe joined the Knights of Columbus Millville Council #1778, becoming a 4th degree member of St John Neumann Assembly #1749. He often volunteered at the Saint Martin de Porres food bank.

Joseph was a lifelong learner, earning an Associates Degree in Graphic Design from Cumberland County College in 2010 and becoming a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant in 2012. He went on to obtain his CDL, and enjoyed his career as a transportation specialist, driving for the Cumberland County Department of Workforce Development in Bridgeton, NJ.

Joe loved Philadelphia sports, especially the Eagles/Flyers. He was a history buff and avid collector of movies and music. He especially enjoyed concert experiences and dining out. His beloved dog Tennessee was a constant companion, bringing him joy and happiness.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Lisa M. Bybel (nee Ernst), his sisters, Barbara Bybel and Jacquelyn Jones (Robert), his step-father, John Bruno, and his step-siblings, John Bruno Jr. (Angela) and Cindy Kull (Mike). He will be missed by many extended family members including his aunts, uncle, cousins & in laws. Uncle Joe will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph S. Bybel Sr., and his mother, Lillian (Hoffman) Bruno, who have now welcomed him into eternal rest.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a viewing to be held at Christy Funeral Home, 11 West Broad St., Millville, NJ, on Thursday, June 11th, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. A Funeral Mass will follow at the Parish of All Saints, Buck and Depot Sts., Millville, NJ, at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Millville, NJ, where Joseph will be laid to rest. Memories of Joseph and condolences for his family may be shared on his tribute wall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parish of All Saints, St. Martin de Porres Food Bank (note Food Bank in memo) at 621 Dock Street, Millville, NJ 08332 or Knights of Columbus Millville Council #1778.
