John Joseph Williams, age 63 of Laurel Lake died Sat. morning, July 27, 2013 at his residence after a brief illness.
Born in Vineland, he grew up in Cumberland County.
He had worked for 30 years as a driver for the City of Millville's Streets and Roads Department as well as its Maintenance Department, and retired at age 55.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his free time he enjoyed driving his four-wheeler and riding his dirt bike.
He was a very proficient metal detector user. His mother enjoyed assisting him while getting fresh air and exercise.
He is survived by his mother Jean M. (Fallows) Williams; a brother Gene Williams and wife Pauline E. of Pt. Norris; three sisters, Sherry L. Beakley and husband William of Laurel Lake, Cheryl L. Cossaboon and husband Howard of Pt. Elizabeth, and Patricia Ann Corson of Pt. Norris. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.
He was predeceased by his father John Williams.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wed., July 31, at 11 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service.
Burial will be in Haleyville Methodist Cemetery.
