Joanne L. (Wood) Duffy Obituary

Joanne L. (Wood) Duffy passed away peacefully on July 19th, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and dear friends.

Born and raised in Millville, Joanne was proud of her hometown and the lifelong friendships she built there. She was the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence Wood, Sr. and Louise Wood. She was also preceded in death by her beloved brother, Lawrence "Larry" Wood, Jr., as well as her cherished in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many other beloved family members who went before her.

Joanne's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Mike Duffy, whose steadfast love and companionship were the foundation of a beautiful life together. She also leaves behind her loving children, Jennifer Duffy, Jessica Duffy Lore Sinone, Sean Duffy, and Jackie Duffy Bagby, who will forever cherish her.

She was a proud grandmother to Cody (Taneysha) Lore, Christopher Duffy, and Tyler (Veronica) Duffy, and an adoring great-grandmother to Enzo Lore, Layla Lore, and Eabha Duffy, who brought endless happiness, laughter, and pride to her life.

Joanne is also survived by several cousins and a large circle of close friends—both lifelong companions and those she was fortunate to welcome into her life over the years. She treasured every friendship and had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel like family.

Joanne embraced life with enthusiasm and found joy in spending time with the people she loved. She had a playful spirit and was always ready for a game, especially Scrabble, bridge, Hand and Foot, and pinochle, where her quick wit and friendly competitive nature made every gathering memorable. She also loved golfing, bowling, and shooting hoops with family and friends, always enjoying the laughter and camaraderie as much as the game itself. Joanne treasured evenings at outdoor concerts, attending the theater, traveling to new places, and creating lasting memories with those closest to her. Whether around the card table, on the golf course, at the bowling alley, shooting baskets, or simply sharing stories and laughter, Joanne had a remarkable way of bringing people together. Her warm smile, generous heart, and joyful spirit made every moment brighter, and those memories will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Above all, Joanne will be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering devotion to her family, kind and generous spirit, and her ability to make everyone she met feel welcomed. She lived a life filled with love, friendship, laughter, and generosity, leaving behind a legacy that will continue through the generations and in the many lives she touched.

Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her beloved husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends. Her family finds comfort in knowing that the love she shared so freely, the laughter she inspired, and the memories she created will remain with them always.

In keeping with Joanne's wishes, she will be cremated, and there will be no formal services. The family appreciates the love, prayers, and support shared during this time.
