James Walter Hanson, a beloved lifelong resident of Millville, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13th, 2025. Born in Woodstown, NJ, James was a dedicated and talented carpenter whose craftsmanship touched many lives.

James spent time working at Colonial Boatworks in Millville, NJ, where he honed his skills in boat building. Later, he continued his passion for carpentry at Dorchester Industries. Known for his artistic flair, James enjoyed creating beautiful furniture and intricate models, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and dedication to his craft.

A devoted fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, James found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Two years ago, he embraced a new chapter in his spiritual journey by accepting the Lord, bringing him peace and fulfillment.

James was preceded in death by his loving parents, Walter and Doris Hanson, his cherished spouse, Jaunice Hanson, and his sisters, Joan Ericsson and MaryJane Berry. He is survived by his four children, Jim Hanson, Todd Hanson, Gary Hanson (Emma), and Wendy Brumbley, as well as his four grandchildren, Gary Hanson Jr., Alex Hanson, Megan Tozer, and Robert Tozer, who will all miss him dearly.

In accordance with his wishes, a private cremation will be held under the care of Christy Funeral Home in Millville, NJ. Friends and family are invited to share their memories of James and offer condolences on his tribute wall.
