Herbert C. Williams, a beloved lifelong resident of Millville, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025. Born in Camden, NJ, Herb dedicated his life to serving his community and his country with honor and distinction.

Herb proudly served in the United States Army before embarking on a 25-year career as a police officer with the Millville Police Department. His commitment to the safety and well-being of his community extended beyond his police work, as he also served as a school resource officer for the Millville Board of Education, where he positively impacted the lives of countless young people.

Herb's love for music was well-known, and he was an avid singer who found joy in performing with barbershop quartets. His voice and spirit brought happiness to many, and his passion for music was a testament to his vibrant personality.

Herb is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Williams, and their loving children: Tommy (Roberta) Williams, Chuck Williams, and Mary Jo (George) Joh. He was a proud grandfather to Tommy Williams Jr. and Nash Joh. Herb also leaves behind his cherished sister, Ruth Williams Shindel Waterhouse, and many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Dorothy Williams.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a viewing on Monday, April 14th, 2025, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Christy Funeral Home, 11 West Broad St., Millville, NJ. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am at the Parish of All Saints, Buck and Depot Sts., Millville, NJ. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, Millville, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.  Memories of Herb and condolences for his family may be shared on his tribute wall.
