Helen M. Roselle, age 87 of Millville, died Sunday afternoon, April 27, 2014, at the ManorCare Nursing Home, W. Deptford. She had been in declining health.
Born in her family home where she was a lifelong resident, she was a graduate of Millville High School class of 1943.
She worked for the City of Millville for 27 years where she rose to Payroll Supervisor in the Department of Revenue and Finance before retiring in 1993. Prior to that she had worked for Tichner Motor Parts for a number of years.
She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church on the Maurice River where she served as a Deacon and an Elder.
A Millville Woman's Club member for 58 years, she had served as its Treasurer for many years and was a member of its former Monday Nite Department. She was an Honorary member of the club and her name will be placed on the N. J. State Federation of Women's Club's Honor Roll during its convention in Atlantic City next month.
Her memberships also included the Friends of the Millville Public Library, and both the Cumberland County and Millville Democrat Parties.
She spent many summers in Ocean City enjoying the beach and boardwalk. In her spare time she kept busy working with ceramics and was an experienced crocheter and knitter.
She is survived by her sister Joan Griffiths of Millville; a brother William Roselle of Towson, MD; her caregiver and devoted niece Peggy Huff; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as several cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Anna (Parent) Roselle; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Herbert (Gertrude) and Paul (Ivy) Roselle.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sat., May 3, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church on the Maurice River, 119 N. Second St., Millville. There will be a viewing from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the church before the service. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Millville.
