Helen Elizabeth (Lawser) Brown Obituary

Helen Elizabeth Brown, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 22nd, 2026. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Helen spent most of her life in Millville, NJ.

Helen dedicated many years of her life working as a circulation clerk at the Bridgeton Evening News in Bridgeton, NJ. Her warm smile and kind demeanor left a lasting impression on colleagues and readers alike.

Helen was a devoted member of her church, First United Methodist Church, Millville, NJ, and found great joy in her faith. She had a lifelong admiration for Elvis Presley and loved spending time with her family. Her passion for dancing was infectious, and she often brought joy to those around her with her lively spirit.

Helen is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Donald E. Brown Sr., and her children: Denise Matias, Tammi Massey and her husband Anthony, and Donald Brown Jr. and his wife Christin. She was a proud grandmother to Alexis, Curtis, Dylan, Blaise, Owen, Michael Jr. and Robert, a cherished great-grandmother to Nikko, Akil, Mikayla, Michael III, Starling, and Robert Jr.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Helen Lawser, her son Michael Kuhns, her brother William Lawser and her son-in-law Curtis Matias, Sr..

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Helen's life at a viewing on Monday, February 2nd, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Christy Funeral Home, 11 West Broad St., Millville, NJ. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am, with interment at Leesburg Cemetery, Leesburg, NJ. Helen's family invites you to share memories and condolences on her tribute wall.
