Gwendolyn Treen, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away surrounded by her loves ones, on Tuesday, August 12th, 2025. Born and raised in Waynesville, NC, Gwen spent several years in South Carolina and was a cherished longtime resident of Millville, NJ.
Gwen worked in her younger years for Prudential, Kerr Glass, and Wheaton Tubing, prior to her role shifting to homemaker . Outside of work, she was a woman of many passions. She found joy in gardening, traveling to Aruba and Maine, and had a special fondness for angels and hummingbirds. Gwen had an eye for design and fashion, particularly anything with a touch of bling, and she adored jewelry. Her love for animals was evident, and she took great pride in maintaining a meticulous yard. Above all, Gwen treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Gwen is survived by her loving daughters, Vickie Volpe (late Donald MD) and Dawn Lupperger (James). She was a proud grandmother to Alicia Kroger (Doug), James Lupperger Jr. (Heather), Donelle Jack (Garrett), and Dina Hageman (Danny), and a doting great-grandmother to Gwen, Holden, and Harrison. She also leaves behind her dear sisters, Gloria Modestowicz and Brenda Shults.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Grace Muse, her beloved husband, Joseph Treen, and her siblings, Linda Lou, Jerry, and Danny Muse.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gwen's life at a viewing on Monday, August 18th, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Christy Funeral Home, 11 West Broad St., Millville, NJ. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am, with interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville, NJ. Gwen's family invites you to share memories and condolences on her tribute wall, as they find comfort in the love and support of those who knew her.
