Gregory Schwegel, age 67, of Millville, NJ, passed away on Monday July 15, 2024 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Millville to the late John V. Schwegel and Elsie Schwegel (nee McConnell). He graduated from Millville High School Class of 1975.
Greg worked for Wheaton Glass for 28 years. He enjoyed playing for the Wheaton softball teams, as well as playing both basketball and softball for different church leagues. He was also in a bowling league at Loyle Lanes for many years. In his younger days, Greg also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was an avid New York Mets fan and shared his love for baseball with his daughters. He was a longtime reader and lover of books. He attended Fairton Christian Center. More than anything, Greg loved spending time and laughing with his family.
Greg will be sadly missed by his loving wife Cindy (nee Cimino). There celebrated 47 years of marriage in April. Beloved father of Kelsey Coyle (Mike) and Kristy Malone (Dan). Pop pop to Adelyn and Arielle Coyle, and Olivia and Cole Malone. Brother to Dennis Schwegel and Martin Schwegel (Carol). He was predeceased by his brother Lawrence and sister Susan, and is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Greg leaves behind countless cherished memories that will forever warm the hearts of those who loved him most.
Relatives and friends are invited to join together for a viewing on Saturday July 20, 2024 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Christy Funeral Home, 11 West Broad St., Millville, NJ. Funeral service will being at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Millville, NJ. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Fairton Christian Center or the American Diabetes Association. Memories of Greg and condolences for his family may be shared on the tribute wall.
