Gary Lawson

  Gary Lawson, age 76 of Millville, died suddenly Friday, February 10, 2023 as a result of an automobile accident in Vineland.
 Born in Akron, OH to the late James Robert and Maxine Alice (Maxwell) Lawson, he moved to Bridgeton with his grandparents when he was an infant, and he attended Bridgeton Public Schools.

  For many years, Gary worked for Wheaton Glass Co. in Millville, and retired as a Master Operator.
  He was a member of the Millville Assembly and the Millville Masonic Lodge.  
  Gary was well-known and beloved within the local community theater groups.  He was very active with the Off Broad Street Players in Millville, as well as, the Cumberland Players and numerous other groups throughout South Jersey.  In 2015 he was nominated for an NJACT Perry Award, given for outstanding achievements in New Jersey Community Theater for his role in the Graduate at the Eagle Theater in Hammonton, NJ.  He also won a Wally Award from Off Broad Street Players for his role as Big Daddy in Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, which was his favorite roll.  Most recently he performed in the play Metamorphosis by For The Whim Productions.  
  Gary is survived by his siblings, Paul Lawson, Jim Lawson, Terry Lawson, Mike Lawson, and Ruth Krause, all of Ohio, and Peggy Smith of FL; and many nieces, nephews and friends.  He was predeceased by his wife Marie (Izzo) in 2022; and two siblings, Mary Sullivan, and Linda Bogle.
  Private graveside services will be at the convenience of the family in Manahath Cemetery, Glassboro.
