It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Francisco P. Vivas, affectionately known as “Paco,” originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico. Born on May 17, 1948, Francisco moved to New York City in 1964 where he eventually began his job in a watch factory. In 1979, he relocated with his family to Millville, New Jersey, and spent over two decades as a dedicated employee at Joffe Lumber. Later in his career, he served the community as a security officer, with his final position at the Municipal Court in the City of Vineland.
Francisco was known by all for his heart of gold, radiant smile, and great sense of humor. He was dedicated to his family and enjoyed being of service to others. He served as an usher for many years at his home church, All Saints in Millville (formerly St. Mary Magdalen Church). Francisco loved his job as security officer and referred to his coworkers as his second family, leaving behind lasting impressions wherever he went. He also had a talent for handiwork, often fixing, building, or improving things with care and creativity. Whether repairing something around the house, or lending a hand to a friend in need, his skills and generosity were admirable.
Francisco is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Ramona Vivas; his children, Eric Soler, Victor Vivas, Jessica Serrano; his grandchildren: Victor Josue, Victor Daniel, Vicmari, Eric Soler Jr. (Garlinh), Jayla Meiswinkel (Cameron), Tiana Marie Soler, and Noah David Serrano; and great-grandchildren Aiko Soler, Ellyana Soler, Aliyah Soler. He was predeceased by his son Francisco Soler.
Francisco “Paco” Vivas will be remembered not only for his strong work ethic and caring spirit, but most importantly, as a devoted family man; his dedication and love had no bounds. The love, laughter, and warmth he brought to the lives of so many will be cherished in our hearts forever. Paco, you will be deeply missed by all who were touched by your beautiful life.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday August 27, 2025 at 10:00 am at All Saints Parish, Buck and Depot Sts., Millville, NJ. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Millville, NJ. There will be no viewing or visitation prior to mass. Memories of Francisco and condolences for his family may be shared on his tribute wall.
