Frances P. Scull, 82 of Millville died Monday evening, July 23, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Corbin City, NJ., Mrs. Scull grew up in Dorchester, and lived in Millville for many years. She attended Cumberland County College to become a nurse, and she worked at Millville Hospital for 45 years.
She is a life auxiliary member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 83 of Millville, the American Legion Nabb-Leslie, Post No. 82 of Millville, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Bush-Kerrick, Post No. 2169 of Millville. She was a member of the New Life World Outreach Ministries of Millville, and she volunteered with the Millville Food Bank for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Walter R. Scull Jr. She is survived by three sons, Walter R. Scull III and wife Shirley of Jacksonville, FL, Charles L. Scull and wife Sheryl of Millville, and Thomas G. Scull and wife Nicole of Mays Landing; four daughters, Jane Riggins Berg Sabol and husband Steve of Margate, FL, Dawn L. Scull Turkot and husband Karl of Ft. Myers, FL, Edwina Scull Faussett and husband Robert of Millville, and Anna Sue Scull Keen and husband Brian of Port Charlotte, FL; 14 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild on the way; and her beloved feline and companion Puffy. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles L. Pettit and Lillian Layton Bateman; her first husband John Curtis Riggins; two brothers, Webby and Albert Bateman; and one sister Lillian Blizzard.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the New Life World Outreach Ministries, Blue Bird Lane, Millville, NJ 08332. Family and friends may call from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Christy Funeral Home, Millville.
