F. Rebecca (Simpkins) Thompson, age 98 of Millville died Sat., April 20, 2013 at Bishop McCarthy Residence, Vineland after an extended illness.
Born in Millville, she was a lifelong resident.
She was a seamstress and had worked for Model Blouse - Savada Brothers for 46 years before retiring at age 62. She was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union.
She was a member of the Second United Methodist Church of Millville.
Her family was an important part of her life, and she enjoyed reading newspapers and keeping up with current events.
She is survived by her son Woodrow W. Thompson, Jr. and wife Donna of Marietta, GA; three grandchildren, Michael Thompson, Andrew Thompson, and Samatha Thompson; a great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Woodrow W. Thompson; a grandson Ryan Thompson; her parents Howard and Florence (Hunter) Simpkins; two brothers, Howard and Donald Simpkins; and three sisters, Edna Stiles, Mildred Bowers, and Edith Gordon.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sat., April 27, at 11 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville. There will be a viewing in the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Millville.
