Eva Sowitsky Obituary

Eva May Sowitsky, age 92, peacefully passed into the Kingdom of the Lord onThurs., Feb. 28, 2013.
Eva was the beloved wife of 72 years to Joseph Sowitsky who had joined the Lord's kingdom in 2010. She was also predeceased by her daughter Patricia Wilson, her mother Irene Bybel, her father Steve Bybel, and her two brothers, Peter Bybel and Steve Bidwell.
Eva was born in Jersey City and moved with her family to Millville in 1931 where she attended school. She proudly worked at Seabrook Farms until starting her family in 1939.
Eva became known as a spotless housekeeper and an outstanding cook. She freely and graciously welcomed all into her home and it was well known that no one ever left hungry. In fact, at age 92 she still prepared a full meal every night and would freely feed all who would come in. Up to age 90, she prepared Thanksgiving dinner for the entire family.
She also made sure that all the animals in the neighborhood were well fed. It seemed that all of her birds knew exactly where to come and would be welcomed back year after year. It was also a common sight to see the noses of cats and dogs pressured against the door asking for their daily meals It was always prepared special, as canned food just wouldn't do, and delivered on time.
Eva also loved her flowers and would tend them lovingly. Her yard, on Pleasant Drive, was a show place and you would often see cars stopping to admire and take pictures.
She was a Christian woman who read her Bible daily. She was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly for over 70 years and very seldom missed a service. Eva supported several missionaries, both at home and abroad, and shared completely with others what the Lord had bestowed on her. She shared the Word with all who came into contact with her and everyone would leave her presence knowing she was a Godly woman.
She loved her family and is survived by her daughter Irene Johnson and husband Axel III; three grandsons, Axel IV and his wife Sherrie of Robbinsville, Christian and his wife Anne of Bridgewater and Darrin of Millville; four great-grandchildren, Taylor and Michaela of Robbinsville and Christian and Diana of Bridgewater. She is also survived by her adopted son Joseph and his wife India of Pennsgrove.
Eva loved all of her family but it must be said that she had a special place in her heart for grandson Darrin. Whenever you would see Eva, most likely you would see Darrin. They had a special bond and Nan will be sadly missed by Darrin.
Relatives and friends will be received form 7 to 9 p.m. on Wed., March 6, 2013 at Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville, and from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Thurs., March 7. The funeral service will begin at 12 noon.
