Elizabeth Ann "Betty" (Lore) Dash Obituary

Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Dash, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the age of 97. Betty’s journey began in Port Norris, NJ, where she was born and raised. A long time resident of Millville, NJ, she later relocated to Pompano Beach, Florida, taking care of her mother and spending many memorable years, until her return to Millville, NJ to be with her family.


Betty was preceded in death by her devoted husband, James “Homer” Dash, her son Gary Adams, and her loving parents, Joseph Marshall “Bud” Lore and Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Hoffman) Lore. She was also preceded by her siblings, Iva Jean Newcomb, Sheppard Lore, and Joseph Marshall Lore Jr.


Betty had jobs over the years in Florida, primarily loved working as a bookkeeper for a retail store, later she dedicated her career as a customer service worker with Jackson Byrons Dept. Store in Pompano Beach. Her diligence and commitment were admired and respected by all who knew her in the professional sphere.


Betty enjoyed traveling with her husband, attending church, social gatherings, and the Florida coast. She had many interests, the love of crafting, spending time painting, listening to music, growing coconut palms and flowers, and enjoying her favorite seafood dinners. Her most loved sport was watching the Florida Panthers Hockey team practice in Gold Coast Ice Arena in Pompano Beach.


Betty loved her family unconditionally. Her absence will be felt with great sorrow by family members and friends. Her warmth and kindness touched many lives, leaving a legacy of love. The devotion of her daughter Dawn was a blessing, protecting and caring for her over the years. Betty’s presence will be dearly missed by her siblings, Herbert Lore and Nancy Walsh. She is survived by her son, Scott Adams (Debra), daughter, Dawn Kohansky (Steve), her daughter-in-law, Judy Adams. Her family has grown beautifully over the years and she leaves behind seven grandchildren, Jamie Ford (James), Austin Adams (Debbie), Seth Adams (Shiho), Matthew Adams (Kisha), Justin Adams (Courtney), Hailey Kohansky, Steven Kohansky (Maria). Her eleven great-grandchildren, Dylan DiMeglio, Jaden DeLaTorre (Kyler), Teagan DiMeglio, Paige Adams, Logan Adams, Gray Adams, Cole Adams, Mila Adams, Garrett Adams, Samantha Kohansky, Stevie Kohansky and the joy of a great-great Granddaughter, Kadence DiMeglio. Betty is also survived by several nieces and nephews.


A viewing to honor Betty’s life will be held at Christy Funeral Home, 11 West Broad St. Millville, NJ on Friday, May 1st, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Following the service, interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Cemetery, Bridgeton, NJ. Betty’s family invites those who knew her to share memories and condolences on her tribute wall as they celebrate her life and legacy.
