Herdman, Eleanor 87 - of Millville, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at her home after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born Ellen Evans on November 8, 1925, she was the last surviving child of Hilda Evans Moore and Raymond F. Moore. She spent a significant portion of her childhood with her stepmother, Louise Hickman Moore. She is survived by her children, Diane Herdman Pogue and husband Thomas of Estell Manor, and Samuel J. Herdman and wife Vicki of Millville; her grandchildren Creed Pogue and wife Rebecca of Estell Manor, Eli Pogue and wife Carrie of Estell Manor, Lea Herdman Flanagan and husband Kevin of King of Prussia, PA, and Samuel Herdman and wife Keri of Millville. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Eli and Mae from Eli and Carrie, Kaitlyn, Kieran and Brian from Lea and Kevin, and Grace and Samuel from Samuel and Keri. She is also survived by sisters Edith Burns of Millville, Audrey Johnson of West Palm Beach, FL and Louise Sherman of Millville as well as many nieces and nephews. Eleanor is also survived by her sisters in law, Ann Herdman and Annette Herdman. She is predeceased by her husband, Samuel Herdman, her sisters, Miriam Glover and Verna Homan, and her brother, Raymond.

She was happily married to Sam for 68 years, from November 4, 1944 until parted by his death on December 3, 2012. She was a full-time wife and mother which was greatly appreciated by her family and maintained stability in the household. Eleanor volunteered at Millville Hospital. While baking, reading books, making crafts and gardening were her hobbies, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also served West Side United Methodist Church as Sunday School Superintendent for a number of years.

Mourners will be received at West Side UMC, 216 Howard Street, Millville after the burial for a time of remembrance.
