Edwin B. Serpa Sr., age 89 of Millville, died Sunday evening, January 20, 2013 at the South Jersey Healthcare Hospice Inpatient Care Center in Bridgeton.
Born in Shoshone, ID, Mr. Serpa graduated from Shoshone High School, and joined the U.S. Navy in 1941. He served during W.W.II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War in the Naval Aviation as a Master Chief. He retired with 30 years of service and then went to Atlantic Community College. Mr. Serpa became a respiratory therapist and worked in Millville and Bridgeton Hospitals for 12 years. He then retired a second time to play golf.
He was a member of D.A.V. of Millville, and the Buena Vista Golf Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, and he expressed himself by painting in both water colors and oils.
Mr. Serpa is survived by one son Edwin B. Serpa Jr. of Millville; one daughter Pamela L. Serpa of Jacksonville, FL; and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Ethel.
Private graveside services were held at the convenience of the family in Greenwood Memorial Park, Millville.
