Edith L. Wagner, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026. Edith was a longtime resident of Millville, NJ, but her journey began in the serene hills of Algoma Hollow, WV, where she was born and raised.
Edith dedicated her professional life to nurturing and guiding others as a Cottage Training Supervisor at the NJ State School in Vineland, NJ. A woman of many talents and passions, Edith found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid bowler, participating in the Women's Morning League at Loyle Lanes and later at Woods Lanes in Woodstown, NJ. Her creative spirit shone through in her love for reading, sewing, quilting, crocheting, and making loom rugs. Edith's culinary skills were unmatched, and her tuxedo cake was a family favorite. She also took great pride in tending to her flowers and houseplants, bringing beauty and warmth to her home.
Edith is survived by her loving children, Lee Wagner, Joyce Burns, and Becky Valles, who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. Her cherished grandchildren, Carolyn, Joseph, Matt, TC, and Benjamin, will forever hold her memory in their hearts. Edith is also survived by her siblings, Patricia Simpson Fioresi, Terry Simpson, and Melody Bowles, and her sister-in-law, Hazel Millornes Simpson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert H. Simpson, her mother, Forest Simpson, and her devoted spouse, Harold E. Marquette Wagner.
Relatives and friends are invited to join together for a viewing on Monday January 12, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the Christy Funeral Home, 11 West Broad St., Millville, NJ. A graveside service to honor and celebrate Edith's life will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Millville, NJ, on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 11:30 am. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects to a remarkable woman who touched so many lives. Memories of Edith and condolences for her family may be shared on her tribute wall.
