Clement J. Sloneski, age 82 of Millville, died suddenly Tues. afternoon, March 12, 2013 in the Capital Health System, FULD, Trenton after a brief illness.
Born in Millville, he was a life long resident. He graduated from Millville High School, class of 1950 where he had been a star football player.
He served in the N.J. Natural Guard as a SP 3 during the 1950s. His buddies thought of him as a real man of men. He was a tireless worker.
He had worked for Atlantic City Electric and retired after 30 years of service. He then operated Clem and Ed's Cesspool Service for a number of years before retiring a second time.
He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church of Millville where he served on the Vestry. He was an active member of the Millville Senior Center. He was an avid Eagles fan, but mostly he enjoyed dining out and enjoying the company of his friends.
He is survived by a son Steven C. Sloneski of Delran; his companion Joan A. Morgan of Vineland; three nephews, John Sloneski and wife JoAnne, Joe Gagliardi and wife Kathy, and Raymond Nardi; a niece Beverly Chappius and husband Russell; two sisters-in-law, Dallas Godown, and Harriet Nardi; a son-in-law Harry Laute and wife Debbie; two grandchildren Philip and Amber Laute; and many good friends and classmates.
He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis Godown; a daughter Susan Sloneski Laute; a brother John Slonieski; and two sisters, Helen Gagliardi and Josephine Dichter.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday March15, at 11 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad St., Millville. There will be a viewing from 9 to 11 a.m. before the service.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park, Millville.
