Claudia (Delair) Prichett, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the age of 75.

Claudia was born on February 14, 1951, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Fredrick and Nettie Delair. She grew up in South Philadelphia, where she spent her childhood surrounded by family and began creating the memories that would remain with her throughout her life.

On June 16, 1973, Claudia married the love of her life, George O. Prichett, at Old St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Willings Alley in Philadelphia. Later that year, Claudia and George moved to Millville, New Jersey, where they began their life together. Millville remained Claudia’s home for more than five decades.

In late 1977, Claudia and George welcomed their one and only son George Fredrick Prichett into this world. Being a mother was one of the greatest joys of Claudia’s life, and she devoted herself to raising her son and creating a loving home for her family.

Claudia was a devoted homemaker whose caring and nurturing nature extended well beyond her home. In the early to mid-1980s, she served as a Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 4, giving her time and energy to help and encourage local children.

Claudia was also an avid animal lover. In the mid-1980s, a turtle named Ralph was blessed to find his way into Claudia’s life. Ralph became a beloved member of the family and, remarkably, is still with them today—a lasting reminder of Claudia’s compassion and love for animals.

Claudia also spent several years working in the cafeteria at St. Mary’s, where her friendly personality and caring nature touched the lives of many. She later served as a greeter at the Parish of All Saints, where she was a cherished member of the parish community. Claudia had a special gift for making people feel welcome and cared for.

Above all, Claudia treasured her family. She was the loving wife of George O. Prichett, devoted mother of George F. Prichett, and loving mother-in-law to Shannon M. Prichett. She was a proud grandmother to Sophia M. Prichett and George F. Prichett, who brought immense joy and love into her life. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Rose Gontowski, along with extended family and many friends.

Claudia will be remembered for her warm heart, kindness, devotion to her family, love of animals, and willingness to give her time to others. From her childhood in South Philadelphia, to marrying George and moving to Millville, to becoming a mother, grandmother, community member, and friend, Claudia lived a life centered around love and family.

Claudia was deeply loved, will be deeply missed, and will never be forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at a viewing at Christy Funeral Home, 11 West Broad St., Millville, NJ, on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Parish of All Saints, located at Buck and Depot Streets, Millville, NJ. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Millville, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Claudia’s memory to: Parish of All Saints, 621 Dock St., Millville, NJ 08332.
