Charlotte Ann "Cookie" Taylor, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13th, 2026.
Cookie was born in Ridgely, Maryland, and spent her formative years in Penns Grove, NJ, before finding her home and raising her family in Millville, NJ. Her warm spirit and kind heart touched the lives of many in these communities, and her influence will be felt for generations.
Cookie was a driven and passionate businesswoman, proudly owning Custom Cakes & Lollipop Tree in Millville, NJ with her daughters. She also ran The Salad Kitchen for many years. Her creative flair and love for her work were evident in every creation a testament to her talent and dedication.
A woman of deep faith and commitment, Cookie was very active in both the Second Methodist Church and New Hope United Methodist Church, where she generously shared her skills as a sign language interpreter. She was also known to house exchange students and missionaries from all over the globe, sharing her home and heart with those in need.
An avid sports enthusiast, Cookie served as President of the Millville Women’s Softball League, and proudly made her mark in the Guinness Book of World Records for participating in the Longest Softball Marathon in 1977. Her love for sports was matched only by her love for adventure, traveling and camping with her beloved husband and children, later embracing journeys in their motorhome.
Above all, Cookie cherished her family. She is survived by her loving children, Cathy Cramer (Lester), Debra Cheesman (Garry), Kenneth B. Taylor, Jr. (Sonja), and R. Edward Taylor (Rhonda). Her legacy continues through her eleven grandchildren: Evans, Shane, Gabriel, Dawn, Garry Jr., Deric, Amber, Jacob, Rebecca, Joshua, and Benjamin, and twelve great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her dear nieces, Sharon Turko, who was like a daughter to her, and Nikki Nelson.
Cookie is now reunited in eternal rest with those who preceded her in death: her parents, Joseph H. Roche Jr. and Charlotte Roche, her devoted husband, Kenneth B. Taylor Sr, her siblings Joanne Slimmer, CoraLou Miccolis, Kaye Vanaman, and Joseph Roche, her grandson Garry Cheesman, Jr., and her great-granddaughter Bianca Taylor Cheesman.
Family, friends, and the many whose lives she touched are invited to celebrate Cookie's life at a Memorial Service held on Monday, April 20th, 2026, at 6:00 pm at New Hope United Methodist Church, 2018 Newcombtown Rd., Millville, NJ. Her memory will remain a source of inspiration and joy for all who knew her. Memories of Cookie and condolences for her family may be shared on her tribute wall.
