Charlotte Fithian Obituary

Charlotte Fithian passed away on November 4, 2024, in Dallas, Texas, after a brief illness.

She was born in Bradford, Pennsylvania, and spent most of her childhood and teen years in Millville, New Jersey. Immediately after high school, she worked for New Jersey Bell as a switchboard operator in Millville, New Jersey. Upon his return from basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, she married Samuel G. Fithian. They were married for 72 years. They shared a love for the outdoors, their families, their son Todd, and the Lord Jesus Christ, faithfully serving him throughout their lives.

After her husband’s retirement from Owens Illinois Glass Company in Dyer, Indiana, Charlotte and Sam moved to Dallas, Texas, to serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators at the Summer Institute of Linguistics. Charlotte spent many years serving at Wycliffe Headquarters In Dallas, Texas, and Wycliffe facilities overseas in Guatemala, Australia, and Papua New Guinea.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Samuel Fithian, her son Todd Fithian, her brother Howard Coleman, her sister Betty Macluskie, and her nephews Raymond Coleman and Robert Macluskie. She is survived by sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins, and very close, loving friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 1:00 pm (CT) at the Event Center at the International Linguistics Center, 7500 W. Camp Wisdom Road, Dallas, Texas.
