Charles "Ronnie" Vetter

Charles Vetter, better known to everyone as Ronnie passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4th, 2023 at Inspira Health Network, Vineland with his family at his side.  Ronnie had been in declining health for the past few months.

Ronnie loved spending his summers at their home in Avalon Manor where he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, clamming and taking his grandkids tubing.

He was retired from Wheaton Glass after 37 years of service as a mechanic, and then went on to work for the City of Millville as a crossing guard for 17 years.

He attended the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church, and was a member of Shekinah Lodge No. 58, and also a member of Southern NJ Ancient accepted Scottish Rite as a 32nd degree Mason.

Ronnie was an avid hunter and certainly enjoyed his hunting trips to Pennsylvania with his good friends Joey Ewan and Rodger Clark, and hunting in NJ with his good buddies Mike McDonough and George Stiles.  In his younger years he owned a stock car which they raced at Vineland speedway, Pleasantville, Heightown and Wall Stadium with Tom Green and Carl Grinar as drivers.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret (Wilson); daughter Kathryn Taylor; granddaughters, Tracy Wolf (Jim), Vicki Andrews (Chris), Lisa Grace (Joe); great grandsons, Christopher and Carson Andrews; great grand son Jimmy Wolf Jr. and great granddaughter Taylor Wolf; Amy Hyson to which he has also been known to her as Pop Pop; and his sister Linda Hickman (Charles).  He was predeceased by Melvin and Viola Broadwater who raised Ronnie from a baby; his biological mother Dorothy Felmey; step father Russell Felmey; sisters, Gloria Vernal, Joyce Taylor and Heidi Dawson; and his constant companion Rusty.

 A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023 in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville.  Visitations will be Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a Masonic Service beginning at 7 p.m., and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. all in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SJ Regional Animal Shelter, 1244 N. Delsea Dr., Vineland, NJ 08360, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to an organization of one's choice.
