Carol J. (Sheets) Messier, age 55 of Millville, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 15, 2013 at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Born and raised in Millville, she attended Millville High School. She soon married, raised her family, and then went back to work.
For 20 years, Mrs. Messier worked as a machine operator for Henderson Aquatics.
She attended the First Assembly of God Church in Millville. She enjoyed riding motorcycles when her health permitted. She enjoyed doing needle crafts and making quilts, cooking and baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. Occasional shopping trips with her sisters were enjoyed by all.
Mrs. Messier is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, James J. Messier Sr.; two sons, James J. Messier Jr. and wife Janelle of Millville, and Steven R. Messier of Millville; two sisters, Katherine Burkett and husband Fred of Cedarville, and Barbara Donnally and husband Arthur of Millville; and seven grandchildren, Madison Messier, Noah Bracelan, Brianna Messier, Mackenzie Dutton, Jada and Jenna Dacy, and James J. Messier III. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert Sheets Jr. and Lois (Parent).
Funeral services for Mrs. Messier will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. There will be a viewing on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville.
