Beverly J. Spigelmyer, age 82 of Van Alstyne, Texas, formerly of Millville, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2013, after a brief illness in the Baylor Medical Center of McKinney, McKinney, Texas.

Born in Millville, she grew up there and was a Millville High School graduate.

For many years she worked as a secretary in the Humanities Department of Cumberland County College before retiring.

She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Millville and a past member of the Millville Woman's Club. In her spare time, she had enjoyed playing cards with several card clubs.

She is survived by her son David Spigelmyer and wife Margie of Van Alstyne, Texas; and six grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband David in 1966, and her daughter Claudia Poff in 2011.

There will be a calling hour on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in the Pt. Elizabeth Methodist Church Cemetery, Pt. Elizabeth.
