Barbara Anne (Keen) Wolford

Barbara Anne Wolford, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18th, 2026, in Elmer, NJ. Born in Wilmington, DE. She spent several years in Key West, Fl. where she was the Advertising Manager of the Key West Citizen newspaper, before returning to Delaware.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Wolford, her son, Robert Wolford, along with his wife Julianne. She was a proud grandmother to their children Torianne and Justin. Barbara is also survived by her siblings, Willard Keen, his wife Diane, Joan Eicheholz, Nancy Coldiron, and Kathy Oliver, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings, Richard and Charlie Keen and Judy Ridgeway. She also leaves behind her beloved cousin Joni “Cuz” Wester of CA. They remained close pen pals throughout her life.

Barbara loved the beach. She spent her younger years enjoying Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. In her years spent in Key West, she could often be found swimming or floating on her back.

Barbara loved to cook and garden. She was the glue for family gatherings. Preparing food for hours to feed all the family members for every holiday. While making sure the little ones had plenty of Disney movies to watch and often enjoyed watching them herself.

She was a lifelong avid reader, often swapping books with her daughter. She was athletic and taught her son how to shoot basketball. A memory they often would joke about.

In her final years, Miss Barbara was dearly loved by those who took care of her. She will be remembered for her kindness, positive attitude, and quiet strength.

The family invites those who knew and loved Barbara to share their memories and condolences on her tribute wall, celebrating the life of a special woman who touched the hearts of many. At her request there will be no services.
