Amelia M. (Koeck) Savage, age 92 of Port Elizabeth, passed away Thursday morning, February 27, 2014 at the Inspira Hospice Center in Bridgeton.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, her family moved to Haleyville in 1930, and she graduated from Port Norris High School.
For 30 years, Mrs. Savage worked as a bank teller for Millville National Bank, and she retired when the bank merged with Camden Trust Co. Prior to that, she briefly worked for Armstrong Cork Co.
Mrs. Savage was a member of the Haleyville United Methodist Church, where she was an active member. She was an avid reader, and she enjoyed playing pinochle with her card club. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Savage is survived by her nephew Craig Williams and his wife Shirley of Millville; two great nieces, Celese Nolan and husband James, and Karen Cassady and husband Michael, all of Millville; three great great nephews, Mason and Kaden Cassady, and Trevor Nolan; and one great great niece Reese Cassady, all of Millville. She was predeceased by her husband Elwood Savage; her parents, Frank Koeck and Mary Mercer; and her sister Florence Williams Nugent.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. There will be a viewing on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Haleyville Methodist Cemetery.
